Carroll 0, St. Norbert 0 (2OT)

(De Pere, Wis.) - The Carroll University men's soccer team closed out the 2009 regular season with a 0-0 double overtime tie at Midwest Conference foe, St. Norbert College.

The Pioneers finished the regular season 14-1-3 overall, 8-0-1 in the MWC.

Senior goalkeeper Stanislaw Miaskowski led a defensive effort that earned the hard-fought shutout. Miaskowski and the Pioneers ended the MWC season by surrendering just two league goals.

Carroll, the 2009 MWC Champions, will now host the four-team league tournament on Nov. 6-7. The winner of the MWC Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Carroll will face the No. 4 seed (to be determined on Sunday) at 10 a.m. on Friday while No. 2 Grinnell College and No. 3 St. Norbert battle at 1 p.m. The tournament final is set for Saturday at 4 p.m.
